Rhythm & Rhyme - Poetry/Spoken Word/Open Mic - Feature: Artis | Book Launch

Welcome to Rhythm & Rhyme! Come join us on Saturday, August 23rd for an evening of open mic magic. Hosted by Adeke Rose, our evening will feature a diverse lineup of spoken word performers from seasoned professionals to budding artists. August will feature Artis, who will also be launching her book “Cuz I Like Me” so arrive early, open minded, ready to be stirred.

It is Rhythm & Rhyme so we invite spoken word artists, vocalists, musicians, comedians and other creatives to share your gift. Our open mic set is performed at Chael The Transformation Space which provides an intimate setting for performers, so seating and performance slots are limited.

Price: General Cover: $20 | Performing Artists: $15 | Tickets for both are an additional $5.00 at the door (until max capacity reached) | This is a non-refundable event.

Artis is an award-winning poet, spoken word artist and lover of words. She has performed in talent shows at businesses, churches and community events. She has been commissioned to write personal poems for close friends and relatives. She is known for writing inspirational, uplifting poems. Her signature poem “Cuz I Like Me” is the inspiration for this book’s title. When she isn’t performing at open mics in the DMV, she’s watching trivia game shows, crime shows or solving crossword puzzles. Artis resides in Maryland.

Directions/Parking: The event will be hosted at Chael The Transformation Space at 8379 Piney Orchard Parkway, Suite F, Odenton, MD 21113.

Landmark: Entrance to parking lot is across from Walgreens; bear left upon entering parking lot (look for nail salon), drive over two speed bumps and park in open parking lot by red awning (with 8379 on it) | Once parked, enter through glass double doors under red awning and proceed to Suite F.
